چکیده

To manufacture a high-performance structure made of continuous fiber reinforced plastics, Liquid Composite Molding processes are used, where liquid resin infiltrates the dry fibers. For good infiltration quality without spots, it is important to predict flow correctly. Knowledge local permeability an essential precondition for mold-filling simulations. In our approach, intra-bundle parallel and transverse fibers characterized via periodic fluid dynamic simulations micro-scale volume elements (VE). We evaluate compare two approaches: First, approach generate VEs based on statistical distribution diameters. Second, micrograph images samples manufactured with Tailored Fiber Placement (TFP) using measured distribution. The show higher heterogeneity than statistically generated VEs, which by large areas. This leads significantly different compared stochastic approach. conclusion, pure needs contain correct values.

Development of Micro Aerial Vehicle using Piezoelectric Fiber Composites

Recently, flapping robots are noticed by many researchers, and many challenges are being made toward the realization of flight motions like insects, birds and so on. The purpose of this work is to develop flapping robots using a new type of piezoelectric material, that is, piezoelectric fiber composites. By using the composites, actuating fibers and sensing fibers can be embedded into a wing as...

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Bismaleimide Composites

Bismaleimide (BMI) resins are developed very rapidly due to the demands of the defense and aerospace industries. They are cross-linked polymers which process like epoxy resins but have an upper use temperature of 230°C, compared to the epoxy upper use temperature of 175°C. Also due to the available intrinsic properties of BMI resins such as higher thermal stability and lower toxicity than those...

Effect of Fiber Surface Treatment on Wear Characteristics of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polyamide 6 Composites

Ozone modification method and air-oxidation were used for the surface treatment of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)-based carbon fiber. The surface characteristics of carbon fibers were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The interfacial properties of carbon fiber reinforced polyamide 6 (CF/PA6) composites were investigated by means of the single fiber pull-out tests. As a result...

Characterization of the Interphase in Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites Using Force Modulation Atomic Force Microscope

In order to describe directly interphase properties of composite, force modulation of atomic force microscopy is adopted to study the cross-section of unidirectional carbon fiber/epoxy composites systematically. Research results indicate that in force modulation mode of AFM, relative stiffness of various phases distinct in distribution, which is described by probability histogram of relative st...

PREDICTING THE STIFFNESS OF BIAXIAL BRAIDED FIBER COMPOSITES BY INCORPORATION OF CARBON NANO FIBER

In this study, carbon nano fibers (CNFs) were mixed into epoxy resin through a magnetic stirrer and again mixed using ultra sonicator. Using hand layup technique, biaxial braided fiber composites were prepared with unfilled, 0.2, 0.5 and 1 wt% CNF. Tensile test and shear test was performed to identify the tensile strength and shear strength of the composites. Fractured surface of the tensile sp...
